theAsianIR launches service to help Singapore Companies access EDG

theAsianIR Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based consulting firm specialising in Branding and Digital Transformation, just announced that their Branding Director, Teo Gudelj, has secured a Singapore Certified Management Consultant License from TUV SUD. Teo is now able to submit EDGs (Enterprise Development Grants), specifically in Brand Development and Business (Digital) Transformation, on behalf of 300,000 SMEs (Small-Medium Enterprises) and 37,400 international companies in Singapore.

theAsianIR helps SMEs with the following;

  1. Adoption of Digital Solutions that helps core business increase productivity and reduce expenses
  2. Adoption of Branding initiatives that improves the positioning of products and services

Usually projects are about SG$40,000, where the company subsidises 30% of that amount. However creative financing schemes are available to ensure benefits outweigh expenses

theAsianIR's core capabilities are branding and digital transformation. A typical assignment can mean be;

Company A requires Branding initiatives to position their new product better to the Singapore and overseas market. Company A engages theAsianIR to conduct a Brand Audit, Creative and Design Guidelines, Advertising and Content templates and examples, social media and multimedia planning and examples. theAsianIR completes a proposal, and with the help of Company A, submit an application for EDG under the "Strategic Branding and Marketing Development" scope. Enterprise Singapore takes 8 weeks to approve the application and provides a "letter of approval". theAsianIR starts the project upon receiving the letter. The project takes 4-6 months and theAsianIR submits the required pre-requisite documents to ES. ES will review and deploy funds upon approval.

The cost-benefits for Company A after the Branding project are;

  1. Increased awareness from implementation of branding guidelines and content templates
  2. Increased click-throughs from utilising theAsianIR's proprietary online advertising algorithms 
  3. Increased conversions from deploying of theAsianIR's marketing automation packages

EDG is the short form for Enterprise Development Grant. This grant was announced in the Annual Budget 2018. In short, EDG is a grant for established local SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) to help them grow and transform their businesses. It officially launched on 25 October 2018. It replaces the Capability Development Grant (CDG).

To be eligible, you are required to
1. Have a registered company and operating in Singapore
2. Have at least 30% local shareholding
3. Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the project.

Company should have a minimum turnover of SG$500,000 to be eligible.
